About Shannon
Growing up on a family farm in rural Illinois, Shannon William Giles learned a lot about the value of grit, determination and community. In addition to working side-by-side with his family putting in the long, physically demanding hours necessary to maintain crops, livestock and homestead, Shannon found time to excel in sports and master the art of home cooking. After high school graduation, he moved to Tempe, Arizona to pursue a college education. He worked multiple jobs to make ends meet and keep up with his newly discovered city social life. Eventually, Shannon chose to focus solely on his employment with UPS, which was a higher education in a completely different context. In addition to teaching him how little sleep he required, UPS afforded him an opportunity to complete his business degree and, to grow as a manager and leader. To this day, Shannon considers great service to be first and foremost and does whatever it takes to achieve that.
After 14 years with UPS, Shannon accepted an opportunity to own and manage his own insurance and financial services agency with Farmers. For the next 17 years, Shannon dedicated himself to building relationships with clients, staff and business partners and regarded all of them as family. He prided himself in providing top-notch service with a personal touch and enjoyed the face-to-face interaction and personal touch he was able to give his clients during both their happiest moments and their most trying. Shannon and business partner/fellow agent Chris Iten shared in this vision, and together they ran a welcoming, professional business built primarily on referrals from happy clients.
As part of his commitment to great service, Shannon has always made it his personal challenge to find the absolute best product and coverage for his clients based on their unique circumstances. As his agency grew and referrals continued to come in, Shannon realized that he could better provide individualized and comprehensive service for his clients by expanding his product line and forming an independent, full-service agency. The dream was shared by his business partner, thus after years of careful planning and research, Giles & Iten Insurance was born. The agency officially opened in January 2019, and Shannon and Chris are thrilled to be providing service and education to clients in exactly the way that they envisioned.
